Michigan Gas Prices Fall to 11 Cent, First Decline in Three Weeks

The gas prices in Michigan for the first time in three weeks is on the decline to 11 cent drop to bring prices closer to the national average.

According to American Automobile Association reports, the average cost for a gallon of self-serve unleaded gasoline is $2.98 as of Monday, June 4. This drop in prices bring the state within breathing distance of the national average of $2.95 per gallon to commence the week.

The Dearborn-based auto club, which surveys prices at 2,800 gas stations across Michigan each week reports that Michigan had ample change in average weekly gas price this week with the 11 cent drop. Michigan still has 18th most expensive average daily gas prices in the nation even with the decline.

While there is a decline in prices for the time being, there are still 48 cents higher that earlier year's average of $2.50 at this time period.

According to the report by GasBuddy, the cheapest gas in the state for $2.39 (cash only) can be found at Marathon station 3255 Michigan Ave while the cheapest gas for credit and cash can be found at Admiral in Clare for $2.59, and for $2.60 per gallon at the Shell and Marathon in Dowagiac.
