An Indian-origin American analyst Sachin Gupta will be an assistant general manager at the Detroit Pistons NBA (National Basketball Association) club.
The Detroit Pistons have proclaimed the appointment of an Indian origin American analyst Sachin Gupta as the Assistant General Manager of the club.
"We are pleased to welcome Sachin Gupta to the Detroit Pistons organization," Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores Special Advisor Ed Stefanski has stated in a Press release. "Sachin is a creative thinker, extremely intelligent, and has a great handle on the analytical side of basketball operations systems. His analytics and salary cap background will be a tremendous resource while serving a leadership role for our basketball operations team."
Earlier this season, Gupta spent as a special adviser to Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey, his second stint with the organization.
Gupta, a native of Boston began his career in NBA in 2006 with the Rockets as Morey's introductory employee, laying the foundation for the team's extensive analytics undertaking, which the Rockets would in future become renowned for. In addition to his responsibilities as an analyst.
