When individuals consider the wealthiest CEOs of Indian descent in the tech industry, names like Sundar Pichai from Google and Satya Nadella from Microsoft are often mentioned. However, this perspective has shifted recently. According to the latest Hurun India Rich List for 2025, Jayshree Ullal has discreetly surpassed these prominent figures to become the richest Indian-origin executive across the globe. The recent Hurun India list reveals that Jayshree Ullal, the President and CEO of Arista Networks, is now the leading Indian-origin executive worldwide. With this new position, Ullal has outdone Sundar Pichai from Google and Satya Nadella from Microsoft in terms of personal wealth. Hurun India stated that Ullal now tops the rankings of Indian-origin leaders in the tech field, based on her net worth and long-term value development. This change is significant, as the public gaze has predominantly been on CEOs of consumer tech giants in recent times.

Jayshree Ullal is a business executive of Indian descent, born in Britain, who has overseen Arista Networks for 17 years. She currently resides in Santa Clara, California, where the company is located. Arista Networks specializes in cloud networking and creates high-speed switches and software utilized by large data centers, cloud service providers, and business offices. Earlier in 2025, the 63-year-old Ullal was placed second among the five top women wealth creators in the Candere Hurun India Women Leaders List. Her progress has mostly gone unnoticed, even while Arista became a leading firm in supporting cloud and AI infrastructure. Ullal completed her education at the Convent of Jesus & Mary in New Delhi. She then relocated to the United States, where she acquired a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at San Francisco State University. Furthermore, she obtained a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Santa Clara University in 1986. In 2025, she was honored with an Honorary Doctorate in Engineering.

Jayshree Ullal became part of Arista Networks in September 2008 and has remained its CEO ever since. Under her guidance, the company concentrated on software-driven networking when cloud computing was still developing. Prior to joining Arista, Ullal served in significant positions at various major tech companies. She was part of Cisco Systems, where she helped build its switching business. Earlier in her career, she also worked at Advanced Micro Devices and Fairchild Semiconductor. These experiences enriched her strong understanding of hardware, software, and large-scale systems. As per Forbes data from December 27, 2025, Jayshree Ullal’s net worth is estimated at $5.7 billion, having recently increased by $34 million. This ranking places her at number 713 on the global wealth list. In contrast, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella had a net worth of $1.1 billion on the same date, after a decrease of about $250,000. Google’s Sundar Pichai had a net worth of $1.5 billion, with his wealth declining by $2 billion during the same timeframe.

One main factor contributing to Ullal’s increasing wealth is her investment in Arista Networks. She holds nearly 3% of the company's stock, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Since 2020, the price of these shares has surged due to high demand for cloud services, data centers, and infrastructure related to artificial intelligence. Arista Networks has gained from the quick expansion in AI and cloud computing. Big tech companies and organizations require faster and more reliable networks to manage AI tasks, and Arista’s offerings are essential in this area. While tech companies that deal directly with consumers may experience significant fluctuations, Arista’s consistent business strategy has helped ensure long-term success. This has enabled Jayshree Ullal to accumulate wealth quietly, without the spotlight that often shines on leaders of major consumer brands. Her position at the top of the Hurun India Rich List 2025 shows how leaders in back-end technology are now creating just as much, or possibly more, value than some of the more prominent figures in the tech industry.

With this achievement, Ullal has become the wealthiest CEO of Indian descent globally, changing the perception of success and leadership in international technology.
